About Myself

A LIFE THAT IS BEING LIVED !!!
(An Autobiography)
This drizzling Sunday, sitting in my green backyard among the colourful tulips while blowing breeze was the only reason to break deep silence of the atmosphere and don’t know why this white pigeon on the tree next to my chair is constantly staring at me, I calculated the most important ratios of my life.
I just realised I’ve spent less or more twenty five years of existence, using my actuarial skills and expertise perhaps its 50% of an average breathing years. So fast?!!! How comes?!!! I’m just wondering!!!
I still remember my first day in School when my great father drop me there, I was holding his right hand’s second finger and he was showing me around where my class room, toilet and canteen was and how can I forget that big banyan tree next to the north entrance of my school, where I was asked to see him at the day end and he would pick me up. He was very excited that day (their child’s first day at school) and I was trying to hide my tears behind eye lids (first time seven hours separation from my family). As he left, I started to count down to see him again.
I also remember my first ever communication with my class teacher Mrs Shaheen, as I entered the class room she asked me, ‘’Are you NEW COMER’’, I innocently wave my head in negative affirmation and replied, ‘’AYYAZ QAMAR’’ (I thought she knows my Sur-name but not the first name). Her laughter was a conclusive evidence for me that my name is very funny (who knows the reality). I had decided to change my name to avoid further embracement perhaps that’s why everyone who asked my named that day I told them, ‘’New Comer’’ (It was my first ever independent decision).
Now I often quote this funny incident to my own students to explain how language can be a communication barrier.
And a year before all above, I can’t forget to mention how my great mother use to prepare me for the entrance test, sitting in the sunlight in the winter mornings while I used to sit in her own shadow (see I don’t like sunlight since childhood).
It’s really difficult to digest that I’m talking about happenings of twenty years ago. I’m no way convinced to believe two decades have passed so very quickly. For me it is literally like yesterday night’s memories or maximum day before yesterday old memories.
I was born and raised in a healthy and highly educated family with rich cultural and traditional values in Lahore Pakistan. My father has been serving as a senior bureaucrat in the Federal Government of the country and has always been a role model in my life. His humble personality, honesty, professional competence and philosophy to deal social issues have always been inspiring for others. At-least I can’t compare myself with him. Can you compare an ordinary stone (me) and a rare sapphire (my father)?
My mother helps the poor, wipes their tears and provides counselling to women in social disorder. That is why if you ask me about her profession probably I would say she is an ‘Independent Social Worker’, what else a social worker does? (Though it is a separate case when I was in forth standard, once I had a reasonable doubt that mom has been a boxing champion as-well on the event when I receive a couple of professional punches when I was consistently refusing to study). No doubt her lap is the strongest and the most protective shelter for me than any other edifice structure in the world.
In my siblings I got an elder brother belonging to the management profession and an elder sister having very refined, well behaved and dignified personalities. So my parents and my siblings are four precious and beautiful flowers in the garden of my existence. Oh!!! I’m sorry I forget to mention an addition of a rose bud in this garden, when GOD blessed my sister with a baby boy in 2002.
I got my early education from the historically prestigious institutions in Lahore, started Chartered Accountancy from ICAP and qualified its intermediate stage. After that I was offered a scholarship in Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in its partnership programme with CMI (UK). This institute provided me a lot of opportunities for self actualization and gave me an opportunity to meet with the well known personalities of the world. If you ask me the most excited moment of my life, I would say it was when I gave a presentation to the President of the country General Pervaiz Musharraf (2007) about privatization of Pakistan Steel Mills. And I was really flying in heaven when the President commended and highly appreciated that 30 minutes session.
The roots of modern sciences lie in the foundations of historical British universities whose history is spread over centuries. These institutions have produced many scientists, intellectuals, politicians, world leaders and Nobel Prize holders whose work has made remarkable addition in different walks of knowledge. It was a key element that encouraged me to enhance my professional exposure in Britannia. In this pursuit I had my Post-Graduation form Liverpool University and also obtained recognition with the worlds highly prestigious professional bodies i-e; CMI, ICB, ICAEW & Deloitte etc..
My stay in the United Kingdom introduced me a unique taste of experience regarding every walk of life. But the biggest cost I had to pay for it was an eight hours flying distance from my parents.
It has started drizzling again, and the tiny cold water drops are showering my laptop (that is not insured). So, I think I must stop here for today,. If you keep visiting ‘Leaf from my Diary’ section of this website I usually up date it once in every week. Thank you very much for sparing your time to read something incomplete about myself.
My name is Muhammad Ayyaz Qamar, and i told you this drizzling Sunday sitting in my green backyard among the colourful tulips, I just realised I’ve spent less or more twenty five years of existence. Using my actuarial skills and expertise perhaps its 50% of an average breathing years. So fast? How comes? I’m just wondering!!!
ANYHOW THIS IS MY LIFE THAT IS STILL BEING LIVED !!!
